No verão não há nada que saiba mais a férias do que um fim de tarde de agosto na praia, depois de um dia abrasador, pele quente do sol, cabelo a saber a sal, areia molhada debaixo dos pés...

Mas quando chega o meio de agosto começo a sentir falta do frio...e dou por mim a pensar em camisolas de lã, casacos e gorros e a desejar que esteja frio para me embrulhar numa manta. Quando penso em mantas, não sei porquê penso em riscas e lembrei-me deste livro dos fabulosos Arne & Carlos que comprei há uns meses e em que um dos projectos sugerido por eles, cujo esquema pode ser encontrado no livro, é uma manta maravilhosa às riscas, toda feita em ponto liga. Cada carreira é de uma cor diferente e a regra é utilizar sempre uma cor clara seguida de uma cor escura. Adoro esta versão em que a autora utilizou agulhas #4 e restos de várias lãs numa escolha de cores fantástica.

Também gosto muito desta versão do mesmo projecto do Arne & Carlos feita pela Elle-Melle com agulhas # 3,5 e mais uma vez utilizando vários restos de lã.

Um outro projecto igualmente apetecivel é esta manta do Stephen da West Knits feita em agulhas #10 e cujo esquema, bem como a sugestão das lãs a utilizar, pode encontrar grátis no Ravelry.

Depois  há as mantas às riscas da Purl Bee, cada uma mais gira que a outra, todas super fáceis de fazer - no site vai encontrar não só os esquemas grátis como também todos os materiais necessários, que pode até encomendar on-line, se quiser fazer uma réplica exacta dos projectos fotografados.

Enquanto me inspirava em riscas e mantas descobri que não sou a única que se cansa das roupas de verão e fica com saudades de se embrulhar numa mantinha. O mesmo acontece à autora do blogue Painting Lilies onde encontrei esta manta e respectivo esquema grátis.

Por fim e apesar desta se poder comprar já prontinha não deixa de ser uma ótima inspiração.


In the summer there is nothing that feels more as vacation than a late afternoon of August on the beach, after a scorching day, warmed skin by the sun, hair namely salt, wet sand underfoot...But when it's the middle of August I start to miss the cold ... and I find myself thinking about wool sweaters, coats and hats and  praying for some cold to wrap me in a blanket. When I think of blankets, I do not know why I think of stripes and this reminded me of the fabulous Arne & Carlos book I bought a few months ago were one of the projects suggested by them, is a wonderful stripes blanket, all done in garter stitch. Each row is a different color and the rule is always  using a light color followed by a dark color. I love this version in which the author used needles #4 and remains of several wool in a choice of fantastic colors.
I also love this version of the same Arne & Carlos project , made ​​by Elle Melle with needles #3.5 and again using various scraps of wool.  

Another also desirable project is the one made by Stephen from the  West Knits made ​​with #10 needles and whose patern , as well as the suggestion of wool, you can find free on Ravelry. 
Then there are the striped blankets from Purl Bee, each one more lovely than the other, all super easy to make - in the site you will find not only the free pattern but all the necessary materials, which you can even order online if you want make an exact copy of the photographed projects.

While inspiring me in stripes and blankets I discovered that I am not the only one who gets tired of summer clothes and is longing to be kept in a wrap. The same happens to the author of the blog Painting Lilies where I found this  blanket and its free pattern.
Finally, and although this is  all ready to buy it is still a great inspiration.
